      New Horizons! Future-Ready Learning and Lifelong Information Literacy

                                                         Friday, July 26, 2024, 9:30 am - 1:30 pm PDT

The "New Horizons: Future-Ready Learning and Lifelong Information Literacy" free virtual conference invites proposals for lightning talks, presentations, and poster sessions that explore innovative approaches, research findings, practical strategies, and emerging trends in libraries and information literacy related to new and existing technologies. We welcome submissions from librarians, information literacy professionals, educators, researchers, LIS students, and other information workers from all types of libraries passionate about shaping the future of lifelong learning in the digital age.
 

Potential topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Artificial intelligence in libraries and education
  • Collaborative approaches to using new technologies in information literacy instruction
  • Digital literacy skills development for learners of all ages
  • Diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusivity considerations in learning environments
  • Effective assessment strategies for measuring information literacy, including digital literacy skills
  • Engaging students through innovative pedagogies and using new technologies
  • Ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in digital library services
  • Ethical issues and policies related to technologies
  • Integrating information literacy across all ages and backgrounds
  • Open educational resources (OER) and their impact on teaching and learning
  • Strategies for combating misinformation and promoting media literacy
  • Using gamification to engage learners


Proposal submission:
All proposals are anonymously reviewed. To be considered, complete proposals must include a title, abstract of up to 300 words, and 1-3 main learning objectives/takeaways for the audience. Presenters must also agree that sessions will be recorded and publicly posted online following the conference. Please visit our FAQ for presenter information, including session formats and important dates. We invite proposals from diverse voices, giving priority to people from marginalized communities during the submission process.
