Andrea Baer (Rowan University) will share about designing and facilitating an interactive workshop on debunking mis- and dis-information. The workshop explores challenges to correcting false and misleading information and psychological reasons for this difficulty, as well as practical strategies for correcting misinformation. The workshop has been offered as part of a library workshop program for the university community and the general public. Andrea will discuss key concepts and pedagogical approaches that inform the workshop and will invite participants to reflect on and share ways that debunking strategies are relevant to their teaching contexts.
